Poetic Translation with Video

I experimented with documentation types and this is another iteration of the segment above that includes linking the video with the poetic translation. There were other camera angles more generally situated, but I really only liked this handheld experience from the videographer’s position in the audience. I invited audience members to share brief written/drawn reflections after the performance, letting their words sit alongside the dance as a form of remembrance. I then translated that feedback from the performance into this poetic translation of my experience practicing in the Gallery during the week before the performance. The length, rough edges, and my imperfect masking and edits in this video reflect an exploratory process rather than an attempt at polish. They mark the process of listening to the material.
